A New Zealand man who lost both his legs in a climbing accident has reached the top of Mount Everest.
Mark Inglis, 47, phoned his wife Anne to say he’d got to the top of the world’s highest peak on Monday and had returned to a base camp.
He got frostbite in both legs in 1982, and both his legs had to be amputated below the knee. However he carried on climbing after getting his new legs.
He is the first person to scale the 8,850m high peak with two false legs.
